Yes, we are happy when our students travel and train somewhere else.
But, according to Frota Academy rules, if you train BJJ/grappling/MMA, then these martial arts gyms/schools/academies that you’re visiting cannot be in Zürich.

This is due to the fact that Frota Academy is heavily involved with developing its BJJ, grappling, and MMA students and competitors – and because there are a lot of classes taking place every week in the Academy in these martial arts.

In the Frota Academy, the white belts are promoted in November and the colored belts are promoted in December.

This sort of a belt promotion system allows Frota Academy instructors more time to access our students.
Therefore, during the months of November (white belts) and December (colored belts), Frota Academy instructors analyze our students’ progress, technique, and game – as well as their dojo etiquette. The students are then given additional advice and tasks on what they need to improve and how to do it.

Because of this, our students have a more personalized guidance towards the stripe/belt promotion, and improve faster than ever.

Yes, you can compete in BJJ, grappling, and MMA. However, according to Frota Academy rules, it is necessary that you approach your instructor first and ask him about competing.
The reason behind is that we want the best for our students – so, we do not want them to compete at tournaments and competitions that are not worth their time.
Our instructors will talk to you about which tournaments/competitions are the best for your goals. Please feel free to ask them.
Frota Academy doesn’t have women-only classes. We believe in the power of a community that trains together – which has been shown to be empowering for both women and men alike.
You may use the fitness equipment at all hours while the Frota Academy is open – when there are classes in session. You may also use it after the classes are finished, provided that you were in the Academy before a class ended.
You may train and stay in the fitness area for as long as you wish to.
Please keep yourself updated with our online schedule to stay informed on the holidays. We are usually open even during the usual holidays (such as the International Workers’ Day).
